I apologize for a distance heart,

A cautious wanderer’s look upon a perfect sight,

Can delay the union of two remaining one apart,

But within the darkness of shadows there peaks a light,

The softness of lips calls with the same unmatched strength,

Yet, I sit, waiting out a sign that will never come,

Expecting the growth of love to be measured in some unseen length,

Knowing the passions of the stars to the heavens above,

The necessity of your gentle touch stings a still wounded pride,

When, in reality, it truly wipes away the scars of the past,

Soon there’ll be know reason to evade true love with a lie,

And eyes will be open to a want to last,

Correcting the heart running too fast, while the head lags behind.

May prevent a loss I may never again find.
