I’ve noticed lately a push of a philosophy, whether it be Facebook posts, bumper stickers, news stories, political stances, life choices, etc., to ”do what thou wilt.” The idea is that if something feels good at the time, then it is good. If it feels bad at the time, then it is bad. Not only is this idea simplistic as a means to decide what defines quality of life, but its origin is nefarious at best. Repackaging an idea doesn’t make it new, it just makes it more palatable to an unsuspecting consumer. I would just recommend if someone chooses to follow it, they at least take a moment to find out what they are following. We should be aware of what is being sold to us, and aware that the person or persons selling it to us may not even be aware of what they are selling.
